WSV-TV: Wuppertaler SV - Alemannia Aachen 17/18

A Western hit at the Stadion am Zoo: In front of 5,199 spectators, WSV earned a 2-2 draw, with the equalizer coming against #DieRotBlaueEinheit in second-half stoppage time. Coach Britscho made two substitutions compared to the match against Wegberg during the week: Enes Topal started for the suspended André Mandt, and Semir Saric made his first start for WSV in place of Enzo Wirtz. After an initial feeling-out period, Saric fired the starting shot in the twelfth minute: From the left, the young newcomer cut across the box into the middle and shot – just wide of the far corner. Keeper Depta couldn't have gotten there! Just two minutes later, Uphoff went forward and sent Windmüller through. From the center of the penalty area, he shot almost unchallenged – again Depta had to intervene. WSV started strongly. Just a minute later, Saric again played the ball half-high into the box from the Aachen byline. Depta went for it again, but could only parry it forward. Topal then took too long to control the ball and missed the chance to score from a free position in the box. That should have been the lead! Aachen did better in the 30th minute: After a bouncing header, WSV keeper Mroß couldn't hold onto the ball, giving Matti Fiedler the opportunity to score from close range. Silvio Pagano equalized in the immediate counterattack (31st minute). After a cross to the far post, today's captain was unmarked and shot home with his right foot!
