How to make DREAMY LANDSCAPE PHOTOS using the ORTON EFFECT!

Want to know how to make dreamy landscape photos using the Orton Effect in Photoshop? The Orton Effect is one of my favorite finishing touches to apply during my post processing workflow. This effect was developed by photographer, Michael Orton, in the mid-80's with the purpose of imitating water color paintings. He would merge a sharp film slide with a slightly over exposed and out of focus slide in order to create this soft glow effect. The atmospheric look that the Orton Effect creates has made this one of the most popular techniques in Landscape Photography over the last few years. This effect, much like others, can be over done, but when used correctly, this technique can take your images from good to GREAT! Enjoy and Happy Ortoning!
