DiResta Forged Bowie knife
In this video watch me forge a Bowie knife from a scrap of metal I cut from the stock that I used in the scissors video few weeks ago. The source of the metal is from a car leaf spring. This may not be the most perfect knife but for me It was a milestone of learning on the anvil and the hardening process. You can see me use a technique of "Blacksmith tempering" on the red hot chunk of steel.. I learned this technique summer from Alex Pole and Steve House .. applying the steel till the bald becomes a "Hay" color and then your knife is tempered. The handle parts are left over leather from my GF Taylor Forrest's furniture making studio / taylor_forrest I show all the Bandsaw at 2x speed to show the carving technique I use to shape the handle . Steve House / @moonshinemetalworks Alex Pole / alexpoleironwork / channel Thank you https://www.pferdusa.com https://www.ameribrade.com
