Newman and the Future of Dogma | A Conversation About the Future of Catholic Theology

With Professors Andrew Meszaros, Shaun Blanchard, Lewis Ayers, Simon Francis Gaine, O.P., and Lauren Spohn. On All Saints' Day, Pope Leo XIV declared St. John Henry Newman a Doctor of the Church, as well as co-patron of Catholic education, joining St. Thomas Aquinas. St. John Henry Newman's extensive contributions have significantly affected the Church, and we are proud that the Angelicum is home to the only dedicated St. John Henry Newman Chair in Rome, held by Professor Andrew Meszaros. The Holy Father's declaration is an exciting moment for our university, for Catholic education, and for the universal Church. In honor of this occasion, the Angelicum convened a distinguished panel to discuss Newman and the future of Catholic dogma.
