Alexandra Zapruder, "Twenty-Six Seconds"
http://www.politics-prose.com/book/97... The Zapruder film, capturing the moment JFK was shot, has a running time of less than thirty seconds, but that footage not only documents one of the twentieth-century’s pivotal events, the film itself has had a lasting impact on the media, the courts, and, not least, on the Zapruder family. Made by Alexandra Zapruder’s grandfather, Abraham, with a high-end Model 414 PD Bell & Howell Zoomatic Director Series Camera, the film provided crucial evidence for the Warren Commission and subsequent hearings. For Zapruder, one of the founding staff members of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, growing up with the film as part of her personal legacy helped steer her toward her own projects with history, and she is the author of the award-winning Salvaged Pages and co-producer of the documentary film based on the book. Zapruder is in conversation with Susan Shreve, author of fourteen novels, most recently You Are the Love of My Life. Founded by Carla Cohen and Barbara Meade in 1984, Politics & Prose Bookstore is Washington, D.C.'s premier independent bookstore and cultural hub, a gathering place for people interested in reading and discussing books. Politics & Prose offers superior service, unusual book choices, and a haven for book lovers in the store and online. Visit them on the web at http://www.politics-prose.com/ Produced by Michael A.
