Nevertheless, in the spring Hokuriku Shinetsu tournament, the prefecture's team won against Tsuruga Kehi, a national powerhouse that had suffered 14 consecutive losses in official matches, and gained a certain confidence. ■Chuetsu Captain Yuto Kubota (3rd year) "I'm looking forward to seeing how the opponent will play now that it's decided, but we've decided that no matter who the opponent is, we'll just do what we have to do." The captain who brings the team together, Yuto Kubota, is the immovable No. 4 who leads the batting line. In the match against Tsuruga Kehi, he showed his competitive spirit with 5 RBIs, including 2 three-base hits. ■Chukoshi Captain Yuto Kubota (3rd year) "When things got tough, I thought about a lot of people and got my energy up, and I've come this far, so I want to win and make a lot of people smile and smile." In addition, this year Chukoshi has a strong double ace, left-handed ace Amagi and right-handed ace Ishiyama. Ishiyama Manaki, who wore the ace number in the fall, is a right-handed pitcher with a fastball that reaches a maximum of 144km/h. Although he was in poor form in the spring, he has been steadily improving towards the summer. ■Chukoshi Pitcher Ishiyama Manaki (3rd year) "I've gotten a lot better compared to the spring, so I can take on the summer in the best condition. I want to pitch well for the team's results rather than my own results." Amagi Tenku, who wore the ace number in place of Ishiyama, is a southpaw whose weapons are his control and sharp balls. He pitched in four games in the spring, pitching complete games in three of them, showing his growth in stamina. ■Pitcher Nakakoshi Amagi Tenku (3rd year) "I've been thinking about how to pitch with coordination, not strength, and how to make it look as fast as possible. I want to pitch and send the opponent to Koshien without giving up a single point." In fact, the two were teammates on the same baseball team in middle school. ■Pitcher Nakakoshi Ishiyama Manaiki (3rd year) "I asked Amagi if he wanted to go to Nakakoshi, and he agreed." ■Pitcher Nakakoshi Amagi Tenku (3rd year) "It would be troublesome if Manaiki became my enemy, so I thought I'd rather join the same team and aim for Koshien, so I agreed." The two respect each other and have always worked hard. In their last summer together, they vow to stand on the mound they've always dreamed of. ■Nakagoe Amagi Tenkuu Pitcher (3rd year) "We want to go to Koshien, so we'll do our best as double aces." ■Nakagoe Ishiyama Manaiki Pitcher (3rd year) "You and I will pitch well, create a good game, and do our best to go to Koshien." The players are not the only ones who are thinking about Koshien. "Do your best to aim for Koshien." On this day, "Nakagoe" received encouragement from a special nursing home with which they have a relationship.
