Calexico - Close Behind + Woven Birds (Lyrics Köln)

This is a live band for sure. Listening to the songs beforehand, I was not so impressed, I must say. I did not know any album other than their first one from 1998, "Black Light", and of that one they only played "Minas De Cobre", which is also my (only) favorite from that album - so I was satisfied. And it was an encore, and still very much an overall favorite it seems. Now at home, I realize that all the songs that I did like more from the pre-listening, and that I recorded, are actually all from their 2002 album "Feast of Wire". Well, I guess that was a hit machine, and probably made for most of the crowd here tonight, in the sold-out Philharmonie with over 2000 people. Well, I enjoyed it. They rock, live. And the support of Brian Lopez, was also very very nice. He was supported by the Calexico band in some of his songs, and he himself played lead guitar and bass for Calexico. Setlist today was: Sunken Waltz Quattro (World Drifts In) Black Heart Pepita Not Even Stevie Nicks... / Love Will Tear Us Apart Close Behind Woven Birds Attack el Robot! Attack!
