"Signs of Yesteryear" - Retro scavenger hunt around Portland, NSW | 4K Walk

Portland, a small town is fast becoming an Australian tourism hotspot, it contains a delightful surprise for fans of retro signage. Scattered across the town's streets and laneways are lovingly recreated retro billboards and advertisements. It's a project called "Signs of Yesteryear" that started with one passionate sign writer in 2001 and now has over 2,000 contributors. This 4K walking tour video aims to highlight this art installation. As we make our way around we'll recreated signs from famous Australian brands such as Arnotts Biscuits, Vegemite, Minties, Victa Mowers, Bushells and many more. Make sure that you drop a comment with your favourite! Looking beyond that, you can see that much of Portland's own industrial history has encapsulated within various art pieces, whether it is a preserved old service station or the impressive silos at the old cement works. This is a slow, ambient walk - no voiceover, just subtitles with facts and the ambient sounds of the town.
