The Admiral Gorshkov-class frigates are Russia's first-tier multipurpose vessels. Development of this class of ship began in June 2003. The lead ship was laid down at the St. Petersburg Shipyard on February 1, 2006, and entered service on July 28, 2018. Ten frigates are planned, and three have been in service since the end of 2023.
