1102 - Museum of Transport Greater Manchester: Queens Road 125 on Saturday 6th June 2026

Welcome to Podbaba Transport Video 1102. Saturday 6th June 2026 was the 125th anniversary of the inauguration of Manchester's tramway system and Stagecoach Manchester, in conjunction with the Museum of Transport Greater Manchester, put on a superb exhibition of buses, in the museum and in Queens Road depot along with the free Shudehill shuttle bus (service 5) and the Heaton Park Circular (service 6) using a variety of buses from the museum as well as Stagecoach Manchester's ADL E400MMC 10616 (SN16OWW) freshly and beautifully turned out in SELNEC Central colours - you could still smell the fresh paint! We travelled on a number of the buses as well as photographing in the exhibition halls. In the big model case is a superbly accurate model of Blackpool Corporation Transport's experimental VAMBAC Brush railcoach 303 as well as other examples of transport across the ages. Buses in the exhibition hall represent all the constituent companies that made up SELNEC and latterly Greater Manchester Transport.
