Pickpocket gangs operate with sophisticated techniques, often in coordinated groups. Some groups are made up of women, sometimes pregnant or minors, who exploit their condition to avoid arrest. Other groups follow their victims for several stops before carrying out their actions, taking advantage of the crowd to go unnoticed. Law enforcement continues to monitor the situation and carry out targeted operations to combat the phenomenon, but it is essential that citizens and tourists remain vigilant and take precautions when using public transport.
