How to find Wimberry Hill - Winter Hill's little friend!

Wimberry Hill and Egg Hillock appears on the eastern side of Winter Hill. It is a lesser peak and therefore tends to be far from the madding crowds that frequent Rivington Pike. A map is provide in the video to help you discover this peak. Winter Hill sits on the West Pennine Moors between the urban areas of Bolton, Belmont, Chorley, Horwich and Darwen within the county of Lancashire. Whilst many people will be familiar with the Rivington Pike peak of Winter Hill, there are many more peaks waiting to be discovered. We begin by hiking to the masted area of Winter Hill, we then subsequently turn in an easterly direction to have a tranquil moment at Deans Mill Reservoir. From here we move further east and north to find the diminutive peak of Whimberry Hill. Once here we view the village of Belmont in the distance, also directly on this line of sight is our subsequent target of Egg Hillock. From these peaks we descend into the Vally below to admire Three Nooks Shaw Brook. Here we discover a small waterfall which we investigate. We eventually clamber out of the valley to gain the track we originally started on near the A675 just outside Belmont. The route is 7 miles with an ascent 1,666 feet. Conditions underfoot were very good on this occasion but Winter Hill is famed for it's bogginess under normal conditions.
