Existing technology, networks, computing capability and behavioural science have advanced to the extent that our 'nests' can be considered separate entities with their own senses, (distributed) brain and (virtual) limbs. They understand human behaviour, space utilisation and external conditions, which enables them to draw insightful conclusions and make responsible adjustments. The help we needed was already in front of us, within the buildings where we spend 90% of our time. Niko is the Head of Enlighted Europe, a Siemens IoT company, focusing on amplifying human capabilities by giving buildings perception. He is successful intrapreneur, with multiple awards from Siemens. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
