What’s in my Backcountry First Aid Kit

Emergency response in the backcountry is the coordination of teamwork, skill and resources. The first responders to incidents in wilderness settings have only what is on their back for resources and equipment to improvise treatment with. Those items differ greatly from the urban medicine environment. First aid kits are no exception. The video that follows is an item by item list of the contents included in my Backcountry First Aid Kit. The items we carry are based off a Wilderness First Responder level training, years of experience and planned out and practiced improvisation techniques. We recommend taking an in-person Wilderness Medical training and gaining as much experience in the backcountry as possible to refine the use of these items.
