This research is justified because the Peruvian justice system faces a heavy caseload stemming from the growing number of cases under investigation and prosecution. Regarding corruption, the Specialized Public Prosecutor's Office for Corruption Offenses registered 57,117 pending cases at the end of 2024, while the Ombudsman's Office reported 6,152 pending cases during the second half of the same year, demonstrating the magnitude of the burden faced by justice system operators (Ombudsman's Office, 2024).
