I Removed Campagnolo for THIS? (Kinesis Titanium Build)
The new workshop is officially open for business, and I am kicking things off with an absolute stunner of a project. I am taking this Kinesis Granfondo Titanium frame and giving it a massive modernization. The customer wants to turn this titanium disc-brake machine into the ultimate cross-Europe tourer capable of handling 3,000 miles of riding this year. To do that, I was given a controversial brief: strip off the mechanical Campagnolo groupset (sorry purists!) and replace it with a brand new Shimano Ultegra 12-Speed Di2 system. It wasn't a straightforward swap. In this video, I’m showing you how I handled the electronic routing on a classic frame, why we are trusting TPU inner tubes for a long-distance tour, and the "custom" silicon sealing job I had to invent to keep the water out.
