The problem explores apparent motion which is faster than the speed of light and it involves calculations of apparent speed and also using techniques of differentiating to find a minimum. It is great practice also for Physics Olympiads, the IPho and also the IOAA as it is a similar level of difficulty. Please note that this is not an official solution and credit to the creators of this beautiful problem.
