Because usage within Okayama City is relatively high, many Rapid Marine Liner trains stop at Senoo Station. Furthermore, to accommodate increased daytime passenger numbers at Omoto Station and Bizen-Saiichi Station, where the Marine Liner does not stop, a new local train departing from Okayama to Bizen-Saiichi and a rapid train departing from Okayama to Chayamachi were introduced with the March 2020 timetable revision. During a visit to Okayama, I took the rapid train round trip to Chayamachi, and it seems that, five years after its launch, it is becoming a popular choice for Okayama residents, as initially expected.
