Fake perfumes with forged Korean labels actually exist. A subscriber reached out after buying what seemed like a genuine perfume — it even had a Korean import label (국문텍) — but it turned out to be completely fake. Under the Korean Cosmetics Act (Article 36), forging or falsifying these labels can lead to up to 3 years of imprisonment or a ₩30 million fine. On top of that, violators may also face charges of fraud, trademark infringement, and document forgery.
