"Pathfinder" (1996) - James Fenimore Cooper "Hawkeye" Native American Film

Film based on the 1840 novel "The Pathfinder", or The Inland Sea by James Fenimore Cooper. It stars Kevin Dillon as Pathfinder and Laurie Holden as Mabel Dunham. The film is known as La Légende de Pathfinder in Canada (French title) and Le Lac Ontario in France. A TV-movie follow-up to "Last of the Mohicans" (1992). The Story: As the French and Indian Wars rages on, Hawkeye (Kevin Dillon) and those he cares about get caught up along with it. While helping to keep a British fort from falling into the hands of the Crown's enemies, he encounters Mabel Dunham (Laurie Holden) -- a beautiful woman who almost immediately raises the suspicions of Chingachgook (Graham Greene), Hawkeye's Native American father. He warns his son not to trust the whites, but will the youth follow his father's advice or his own heart? For education, entertainment, enlightenment and inspiration.
