(Subtitles available; please enable subtitles to view) President Lai Ching-te, attending the "Let the World Read Taiwan—The Blossoming Season of Taiwanese Literature Translation" exchange and mini-exhibition, stated that the awarding of the Booker Prize to Taiwan Travelogue demonstrates that Taiwanese literature continues to be read, understood, and recognized by the world. He emphasized that the government will continue to allocate generous cultural budgets, promote more comprehensive mechanisms and establish incentive systems, and build a national team for international translation and publishing, making Taiwanese literature and culture an irreplaceable force internationally, and allowing Taiwan's voice to reach farther places.
