In recent decades, Brazil's agricultural production has become completely focused on the mass production of commodities for the external market. Commodities are products with little added value, that is, products that do not undergo any alteration process before being marketed. Brazil is the third largest exporter of commodities. Approximately 70% of Brazil's exported products are from the agricultural sector (primary sector). Products such as beef, sugar, orange juice, and coffee are experiencing high export demand in Brazil. In the coming years, the trend in Brazilian agricultural production is towards an increasing focus on commodities. This will likely lead to an increase in the amount of land used for agriculture dedicated to planting these commodities. This unchecked commodity production, promoted by large agribusiness companies and directly influenced by Brazilian political groups, could cause serious internal problems for Brazil. With the prioritization of export-oriented products, basic food products, produced in Brazil by family farms and movements like the Landless Workers' Movement (MST), will become increasingly scarce in the Brazilian market. Agribusiness is growing to gigantic proportions and is responsible for taking land from those who produce the basics of Brazilian food. This entire process happens greedily and without considering the future problems it may bring to the country. Questions?
