SQE2 Property Interview Preparation (Part 1) | Explaining the task ahead
In this video, Dr. Schatz shows how he prepares an SQE student for a Property Interview exercise. This is Part 1 of the session. The student, acting as the solicitor, is reminded of the exam format: 10 minutes to prepare before the interview. 25 minutes in the interview with the client. Dr. Schatz highlights key tips for success, including: Striking the right balance between being sympathetic and gathering essential information. Knowing when to press the client for clarity. Working with the brief and any supporting documents. This scenario is based on a real case, focusing on the important distinction between a lease and a licence in Property Law. Dr. Schatz reminds the student of the strict timescale, then sends her off to prepare. 👉 Stay tuned for Part 2, where you’ll see a full summary of the interview itself! 👉Part 3- you'll see Dr Schatz interacting with his student again, in a feedback session #SQE2 classes are very different from #SQE1 — they are focused much more on client-facing scenarios, exactly as what you will be facing as a Day One Solicitor.
