LaLaurie Mansion a 200 Year History

On April 10th, 1834, a rescue team found a horrific site on the top floor of the LaLaurie mansion in New Orleans. Responding to a fire in the kitchen, officers walked into a scene right out of a horror film, one involving misery, torture and death. Some people believe that when a person dies a horrific or senseless death, his or her soul cannot move on into whatever is next until and unless that soul resolves something about it’s death. If that’s true then there would be few places I could imagine more haunted than 140 Royal Street, New Orleans. In this video, we’ll share information about the now infamous LaLaurie Mansion. We’ll include a brief history of the woman said to be behind terrifying history, Madame LaLaurie. She’s been known by many names; Marie Delphine Macarty, Lady Nero, The Savage Mistress of New Orleans, and the Devil in a Dress. We’ll also share the origins the house and how it fell into the wrong hands, and briefly review a few of the horrific tortures and deaths that went on there.
