This is not an extensive tour of Longton just a quick look at a development site and views of the immediate surrounding area. Gladstone Pottery Museum, Longton Library, Longton Snooker Club, Longton Precinct, Longton Cemetery as well as a number of Pottery works and retail & industrial businesses can be seen surrounding the main A50 road. It is great to see new investment in the Longton area in the form of a new 1,424 square metre building development. German food retailer Lidl is set to relocate its Longton outlet to bigger premises on the old Somerfield site off Spring Garden Road near Goms Mill, which has been mostly derelict for over a decade. The new store should be open in early 2019 with at least 25 new jobs being created.
