Ünye İlçesi | Ordu

Ünye (Ancient Greek "Oinòe" or "Oἰνόη") is a district of Ordu province and the administrative center of this district. It is the largest district of Ordu after the central district of Altınordu. Ünye is also known as the "City of Judges" because it was the birthplace of many judges during the Ottoman period. The typical Black Sea climate prevails in the district. Ünye is one of the rare settlements whose name has not been changed since its foundation. The name Ünye has various spellings in old sources such as Oinoie, Onea and Unieh. These names, which remind us of Ünye in terms of pronunciation, are derived from the word "Oinos", meaning "vineyard, grape, wine" in the Luwian language, and mean "wine region, region with plenty of wine". #turkey #ordu #placestovisit #ünye #travel #trip #women #women #blacksea #blacksea
