Portals of Innovation Introduction to Brownfields in Florida Webinar

This webinar covered the impactful work of Florida RPCs and their brownfields programs. Now in its second funding round in East Central Florida, this program takes a regional approach to identifying and assessing potential contaminated sites. Attendees will learn how to effectively engage communities in brownfield redevelopment and understand how to communicate the program's benefits. The webinar reviewed how brownfield grants can be leveraged for revitalization and addressing community needs. The ECFRPC's successful collaboration with nonprofits and local municipalities will be presented as a model for community partnerships, demonstrating how to build technical capacity and address regional challenges. Funding mechanisms and lessons learned from successful projects across East Central Florida were also discussed, providing practical tools for implementing brownfield redevelopment in their communities.
