It's a Family Affair | Vintage Mixed Media on Stretched Canvas

Today I created a collage in mixed media on a stretched canvas. I started with a layer of Distress Spray Stain in Vintage Photo as a base color. I adhered vintage dress pattern papers using matte medium and allowed the Distress Stain to help color the papers. Next, I added a layer of vintage paper scraps from my digital download collection (link below,) and then went over the entire canvas with matte medium mixed with Quin Nickel Azo Gold fluid acrylic. I added some stenciling on top of that layer and then built the collage using Tim Holtz paper dolls and instant ancestor photos. To add a little more texture, I did a little stamping, spattered with piece with Prussian Blue Hue, and then adhered some little nests of thread here and there. I hope you enjoy watching the process.
