Il bravo docente mette passione, supera le convenzioni, ascolta gli alunni, usa i social come ‘esca’

'La Tecnica della Scuola' met with Marco Castellazzi, communications expert and TV writer: "Learning through play is essential," he said, "because it means having fun; it plants a seed in students' minds, and they'll understand that learning is fun, a beautiful thing." What advice can we give to teachers who want to capture their students' attention? "Passion is essential, because it piques your curiosity, makes you want to understand, makes you see the world differently, even to understand your own passions." How should teachers behave in front of the class? "What I would suggest is trying to go beyond conventions, trying to get involved, putting the student at the center and also having an attitude of listening to them." What advice can we give to educators in the age of social media? Social media is a tremendous opportunity, but it can also be very dangerous. The best thing is to establish a relationship of trust. Use social media together, never leave students alone in the world of social media. Teachers can use social media to capture students' attention: it's clear you can't give a full lesson on TIC Toc, but you can include something, a hook that allows you to capture their attention, and then perhaps bring them back to the classroom, on another platform, YouTube for example, where you can give a more extensive lesson.
