¡Se retiran en silencio! Algunos maestros de la CNTE comienzan a desalojar el plantón de la CDMX

After weeks of protests, blockades, and encampments that transformed the heart of Mexico City, unexpected signs are beginning to emerge within the teachers' movement. On the night of June 5, various groups of teachers began dismantling tarpaulins, collecting belongings, and removing some of the tents that had occupied streets in the Historic Center since the beginning of the national mobilizations. Although the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) has not officially announced the end of the protests, the images of the silent retreat have generated speculation about a possible change in strategy, new agreements with the Federal Government, or a reconfiguration of the mobilizations just days before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
