Nessa versão são mantidos todos os recursos da versão 04 e ainda adicionado um outro tipo de modo carreira, sendo chamado propriamente de "Carreira" com eventos mistos. O Modo carreira como era conhecido nas versões anteriores passou a se chamar campeonato. Após o falecimento do piloto em 2007, a serie teve seu nome alterado para DiRT, a partir do ano de 2011, com o game DiRT 3, removendo o nome do lendário piloto dos títulos dos jogos.
