Nigerian military Intensifies operation against crude oil thieves

The Nigerian armed security forces said it has stepped up its operations against all forms of threats in the country’s maritime environment and has intensified its fight against crude oil thieves, pipeline vandals and other criminals operating in the oil rich Niger Delta. Nigeria has lost more than $3bn in one year - with more losses projected in 2022. The plunder of Nigeria’s oil has left the country unable to meet its OPEC quota.
