But despite optimistic expectations, mergers and acquisitions frequently fail, in part because managers neglect human resource issues, which are rarely considered until serious problems arise. For future and current investment bankers, as the advisor for the deal, it is important to help your client balance his/her responsibilities as a leader and negotiator.
