⚓Vía Céltica | Camariñas a Quintáns #caminodesantiago

We leave Camariñas but not before knowing something of its cultural and economic legacy, as the well-deserved denomination Capital of bobbin lace due to the traditional art of weaving of its palilleras. Then we flank the Ensenada da Basa on its western shore to cross the Trasteiro River and ascend the southern ramps of Monte das Penas. This ascent introduces us to the Valley of Rego de Lamastredo where we will cross villages such as O Cruceiro, Os Pións and O Sixto, the latter with the valuable monumental landmark of the Church of Santa María de Xaviña. Later, the places of Tasaraño, Dor and O Allo will lead us to Ponte do Porto and Cereixo, locations where pilgrims also disembarked in the past to start the Celtic Way to Santiago. In this sense, Cereixo houses a great proof of place of passage of these pilgrims, its Church of Santiago, with a unique tympanum depicting the Traslatio of the Apostle Santiago. The road leaves us on the other side of the Ría de Camariñas along an asphalt route that has now been modified to a mountain path after the visit to the Romanesque temple of Leis de Nemancos. However, the views we get to Muxía and Camariñas are not negligible. After the refreshment at the beautiful Playa de Lago we make the last kilometers through the beautiful domains of Sendón to Quintáns, a village where the Camariñas variant meets the one from Muxía.
