Around midway through the day, strong winds began to blow away umbrellas, and the monkeys lined up together to shelter from the rain. A little after 3:00 PM, a pickup truck arrived at the feeding area. Bringing in were the monkeys' favorite mandarin oranges. 🍊 From that moment, the quiet atmosphere suddenly changed, and the "Mandarin Orange Festival" began. After the mandarin oranges, sweet potatoes were served in front of the management office, and the "Sweet Potato Festival" began. 🍠 The charm of the Awaji Monkeys is that everyone, from children to adults, can participate, regardless of rank. I was fascinated by the Awaji macaques at the Awaji Island Monkey Center and moved to Awaji Island so I could meet as many of them as possible.
