Allonzo Trier - Super Scorer (Iso Zo)

Allonzo Trier. Arizona Wildcat. Undrafted and yet STILL a walking bucket. Let’s talk about Zo’s stepback/pullback/controlled fade. Allonzo’s ability to create contact and bump off (and remain on balance) is worthy of study. The way he’s able to nudge the defense without extending his off arm (and the strength it takes to do that), then to be able to push out with the dribble and create that space, the way he’s able to get the defender to anticipate he’s going to a spot and manipulating him enough to get him to beat him there all so he can separate from there is NOT easy. Another thing that makes Zo so hard to stop is his ability to hard sell his action. He’s telling the defender he’s going to this spot, he’s using his eyes, he’s attacking ankles, he’s using a body jab, then as soon as you start leaning, even just a little bit, boom, he’s burning you going the other way. The last clip is a little bonus. It’s not a bucket, sure, but Trier’s timing isn’t just limited to the offensive end. He’s got bounce.
