Weddings are Getting Out of Hand
The average cost of a wedding in the United States in 2024 is $33,000. According to Forbes the average downpayment on a house in the states is almost the same at about $34,000. The price tag to tie the knot has risen steadily since the 1980s and in 2024, this trend doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The meaning of the wedding day seems to have been lost in our social media feeds and the celebration of marriage has become a spectacle for others to consume and the expectations for the bride and groom often out of reach.
