La prehistoria de la fotografía

The fundamentals of photography, namely the camera obscura and photosensitivity, have been known since ancient times. Photography emerged as a synthesis of physics and chemistry in the early 19th century, but we can trace its origins back much further. Arab and Greek philosophers, then Leonardo da Vinci and Giambattista della Porta, and later painters such as Canaletto and Vermeer, established ideas that led to the emergence of photography in the 19th century and that remain relevant today. We can say that around 1800, the physical and chemical components of photography already existed separately, waiting only for the needs and imperatives of the time to prompt someone to unite them in a practical "invention."
