Many of these criticisms are justified, some are oversimplified, and some, in my opinion, miss the point entirely. As a tutor in North Rhine-Westphalia and a former student teacher, I'll pick out a few of these points and put them into perspective: 📚 The Prussian roots of the school system 📚 Why classes still start far too early 📚 Rote learning: really that bad? 📚 Private schools, Waldorf schools, and equal opportunities 📚 Early separation after primary school 📚 PISA, G8, and political education reforms 📚 Why Germany reproduces social inequality despite all the debate 📚 Poetry analysis, vector calculus, and the eternal question of "lived reality" My focus here isn't so much on a classic response to plain speaking, but rather on the fundamental question: 👉 Why have we known for decades about the problems with the school system, yet we still do so little to change them?
