'Come out! Come out! Come out!' 50 years of gay liberation? | Owen Jones talks...

It's 50 years since the Sexual Offences Act 1967 decriminalised sex between two men, in private. The Act was a step forward for LGBTQ people, however, it was extremely limited progress. I went to speak to a man imprisoned for his sexuality and some activists and campaigners who have fought for LGBTQ rights and equality over the last 50 years. From the Gay Liberation Front in the 1970s, to Section 28 and the Aids epidemic in the 1980s, to the equal marriage rights obtained in 2013, LGBTQ people have made huge strides towards equality but there's still a long way to go.
