Elk River Blues

Back in the late 1980's fifth generation West Virginia fiddler, Ernie Carpenter told me a tale over dinner about his hometown being flooded and a tune he wrote to commemorate the occasion. I wrote these lyrics to tell that story of the damming of Elk River. This was performed at Camp Lotus songwriter's gathering and features John Croizat on fiddle and Steve Coulter on mandolin.
