How would Trump's Import Tax Affect Inequality in America?
There is a lot of confusion around how an import tax, (which was recently proposed by the Trump administration as a way to pay for a wall along the Mexican border) may impact America's middle and working classes. Some believe a tax on imports would bring jobs back to America and raise the incomes of the working class. Others argue that it will only harm America as foreign countries retaliate with taxes on US goods. In this lesson I'll outline the definite impact an import tax would have on disposable incomes and the level of income inequality in America. Several sources were used to produce this lesson. They are linked from the data sheet used to create the graphs, which you can find here: https://goo.gl/h7bO62 Want to learn more about economics, or just be ready for an upcoming quiz, test or end of year exam?
