The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, which operates the K-Pass, which provides a percentage of transportation fee refunds, plans to introduce a monthly pass starting in January next year. Young adults and seniors can pay 55,000 won per month, while the general public pays 62,000 won, allowing them to travel on buses and subways nationwide for up to 200,000 won. The average monthly public transportation bill for a Seoul metropolitan area resident is approximately 100,000 won. If the K-Pass only uses the subway or bus, the existing K-Pass would refund 20,000 won, but the pass would refund 38,000 won. Assuming an office worker uses the GTX 40 times a month, the refund amount will increase from 32,000 won to 60,000 won. While the Climate Companion Card's use is limited to Seoul buses, the Seoul subway, and certain cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, the Flat-rate Pass's use nationwide is advantageous.
