รามเกียรติ์ | EP.2 ตอน : เมขลา-รามสูร และพาลีสุครีพยกเขาพระสุเมร
The story begins when the gods and celestial nymphs were holding a grand celebration in the heavens. The divine warrior Arjuna descended to join the festivities. Meanwhile, from her home in the middle of the ocean, the goddess Mani Mekhala adorned herself beautifully. Holding her cherished crystal gem, she too flew up to attend the celebration. Suddenly, the skies trembled as the great demon Ramasura appeared. His eyes fell upon the jewel in Mekhala's hand, and overcome with desire, he lunged after her. Witnessing this, the gods and nymphs trembled with fear, fleeing in chaos back to their celestial palaces. Only Mekhala remained, hiding behind a cloud. Cleverly, she taunted Ramasura, luring him back and forth. She would pretend to offer him the gem, but as he drew near, she would flash it mockingly and dart away. Enraged, Ramasura hurled his diamond axe with all his might, but it missed its mark. It was then that he encountered Arjuna, who happened to be flying by. Displeased, Ramasura bellowed, demanding to know who dared to block his path. Arjuna, unafraid, retorted by proclaiming his own greatness. With words exchanged, they immediately clashed in battle. The two fought fiercely in mid-air, the advantage shifting between them. In the end, Arjuna faltered. The demon seized him by both legs and smashed him against the great Mount Meru, killing him instantly. Such was the force of the blow that Mount Meru itself was knocked askew. Victorious, Ramasura then flew away. When the great god Isvara (Shiva), reigning from his abode on Mount Kailash, gazed upon the tilted Mount Meru, he was greatly alarmed. He commanded a grand assembly of all beings: gods, Garudas, Nagas, and even the two great monkey kings from the city of Khidkhin. Soon, the deities, sages, celestial musicians, Nagas, along with the monkey king Kakad and his younger brother Sugriva, all flew to Mount Kailash for an audience. Once all had gathered, Isvara led them to Mount Meru. He then commanded that the great Naga king be used as a rope, coiling him around the mountain. At the signal from Indra's conch shell, they all heaved with united strength. But no matter how hard they pulled, Mount Meru would not budge. It was then that Sugriva devised a clever stratagem. He volunteered before Isvara, promising he could pull Mount Meru upright again. With that, he urged everyone to pull on the Naga rope once more. As they pulled, he himself poked his finger into the great Naga's navel. This startled the Naga, causing him to instinctively tighten his grip around the mountain. At last, Mount Meru began to move. Seeing this, King Kakad rushed in, using his powerful shoulder to push the mountain upwards. Finally, Mount Meru stood straight and true once again. Isvara was greatly pleased. He praised the two monkey brothers, declaring them worthy of their titles as the king and viceroy of Khidkhin. Thereafter, they all paid their respects and departed for their own realms. The next morning, King Kakad adorned himself and flew back to seek another audience with Isvara. Isvara, delighted to see him, decided to grant him a great boon for his deeds. He proclaimed, "From this day forward, you, Kakad, shall be known as Palithirat (King Vali)!" He then bestowed upon him the Trident of Diamond and granted him a blessing: "Should you fight any foe, half of your enemy's strength shall be drained from them and transferred to you." Then, the great god brought forth a crystal casket. Inside was the celestial nymph Dara. He entrusted Vali with the casket, instructing him to present her to his younger brother, Sugriva. However, the god Narayana (Vishnu) interjected, expressing his concern that Sugriva might never receive Dara. Hearing this, Vali bowed and, to dispel their doubts, swore a solemn oath: "If I were to keep Dara for myself and not deliver her to my brother, may I die by the arrow of Narayana himself!" Satisfied by his vow, Isvara and Narayana gave him the crystal casket. Vali accepted it, paid his farewells, and immediately flew back to his city of Khidkhin. #รามเกียรติ์ #ramayana #พาลี #สุครีพ #เมขลาล่อแก้ว #รามสูร
