Sydney Metro - Sydenham Station and Marrickville Dive Site Update - March 2021

In this video you'll discover the changes being made at Sydenham Station to accommodate Sydney Metro Trains. This includes the work on Platforms 1 and 2 and the track layout that will enable Sydney Metro trains to use these platforms. You'll also see a stunning new footbridge that is being built at the north side of Sydenham Station. You'll then see some views of Marrickville Dive Site from the train. This includes the first new Aqueduct in 130 years that was constructed to divert the Eastern Channel drainage system away from the new Sydney Metro tracks. You'll also see the entrance to the tunnels that now includes some track! The tunnel entrances are not obvious, so this video will help you find them for real! I also go for a walk around the Marrickville Dive site and show you views from Bedwin Road, Sydney Steel Road and Garden Street. You'll get a great view of Sydenham Pit and the new Aqueduct. I then take a train to Marrickville station to show you the revised track layout on the south west side of Sydenham Station. You'll see the junctions where the new Sydney Metro train tracks will branch off into platforms 1 and 2.
