When Hogan made the journey from the AWA to Vince McMahon Jr's WWF, the wrestling business itself exploded in popularity with the WWF going on to become a national and international success story. Hulk Hogan was at the forefront of this boom period, serving as the company's most popular superstar and becoming a pop culture icon of the 80s and early 90s. Hogan's journey took him to Hollywood, it took him to rival promotion WCW, he helped revive the wrestling business when he formed the nWo, and as his career began to wind down he made a succesful WWF return in 2002 followed by a run in TNA. More sporadic WWE appearances would follow after Hogan was given a legends contract, but then Hulk's world came crashing down when tape leaks showed up on the internet. Terry Bollea's s reputation took a serious hit and it was unknown if he could ever make a comeback, but Hulk did indeed return to the WWE albiet in limited roles with limited fanfare. This video gives a very brief overview of Hogan's career, explaining why and how he became a pop culture icon and how he tried to redeem himself following serious controversies.
