c. Cowley South Works 1992 Austin Rover Maestro & Montego Production Line
These videos were taken on the South Works in late 1992. At the end of that year, both North (Rover 800 assembly at the time) and South Works (Maestro & Montego paint and assembly) were sold to Arlington Securities for redevelopment. South Works starting building cars in the 1940s, after the war. Marina and Ital preceded Maestro & Montego. It is now as business park, home to Oxfam. Maestro & Montego production was transferred to what was called the Body Plant at the time, now MINI Plant Oxford, where limited production continued until the end of 1994.
