What Remains of Pleasure Island at Disney Springs? 30 Years Later. WOM 352

May 1st, 1989 both The Disney-MGM Studios and Pleasure Island open their doors to guest and Disney history was made! Pleasure Island was a Disney-adult-themed area a part of Downtown Disney that was inspired by Church Street in Orlando, Florida. Michael Eisner (the brains behind the operation) thought that guest shouldnt have to leave the Disney property to get some Florida night life, so he created an entire Island for that purpose! Pleasure Island was very successful for a number of years but in September of 2008, a lot of the clubs started closing and we started seeing more and more evidence of Pleasure Island disappearing.... Today we are traveling around Disney Springs where I will give you a tour of the former home to Pleausre Island. Using photographs we will match spots where certain clubs used to reside.
