This version of Pain Is So Close To Pleasure comes from the 2010 Singles Collection 3 CD box set by Peter Mew and was released on May 31st, 2010 in the UK. An excellent remix of the album version featuring a different (and better) intro, a few more instrumental bursts in the middle, and a new fading outro. This single remix is generally considered better than the album version. This was only available on 7" and 12" vinyl until 2010's The Singles Collection Volume 3.
