JASON MCMASTER (Legacy Part 1) on Robbs MetalWorks 2020
The 'legacy' of Jason McMaster is well known & documented; from his early days in Watchtower to his major commercial success with Dangerous Toys to latter efforts in Broken Teeth, Evil United & Ignitor, so there is no reason to rehash that again here. However, it is important to note that the purpose of the 'legacy' interview is to highlight much of what may NOT be known to the public with regards to circumstance, drive & often times pure luck; because in the end I believe we ALL create our own pathways through life in one way or another; and there is no doubt that what Jason did early-on in his life as an adolescent set the stage for what would become his journey in music. So, in this Part 1 (aptly titled 'Adolescence & Early Years') Jason shares about his family life and music, coming onto bass guitar, moving to Austin & meeting Michael Soliz, his first band & much more! The overwhelming minutia does matter, so I hope you enjoy this initial release. We interviewed for almost 5 hours, so there is plenty more to come in this series with the man. Part 2 will be 'Watchtower The Early Days'. Till then enjoy & celebrate with me one of the most historical & legendary figures in the Texas metal scene. ~ El Mero Metal
